eighth bubble; text.

hi again everyone!
so ive learned a bit about valentines day
and in doing so ive found its celebrated differently in different places? :o
and also in some places like japan
theres a corresponding holiday called white day!

so anyway my question today is do you celebrate valentines
and if so how
just out of curiosity
with absolutely no ulterior motive whatsoever

also exactly how many human holidays are there because so far there have been rather a lot of them my goodness
its almost like theres a holiday for every month
and there are at least five ways to celebrate each one
i think i need a chart

I think there was some sort of history behind that concept but it's just not coming to my head right now. [In other words, she's being her usual forgetful self goddammit.] In other cultures, it doesn't really matter who gives who, I think.

We just like to celebrate everything. Everything. [That was a joke. C'mon, work with her here.]

...Really, no reason at all? [Give it up Aradia. Misaki knows when people are hiding something, especially about an obvious day.]

[She tried, at least right. Might as well explain, then.] Some of it just focuses on the Emperor and our religion back home. Others are usually festivals served for celebrating various of themes such as the Star festival.

[She'll just keep getting a stare for the meantime then.]

Kind of. Well, it used to be one until some years ago. Our government has changed since then but the same Emperor is still there. [Not so much of a bonding experience, is it? :C] The Star Festival is held around July to August to celebrate the annual reunion of a couple separated by the gods. It originated from a foreign folklore from a country close to home.

[Then that stare was replaced by a rather surprised look.] Your planet was destroyed?

There's many of variations of the story, as well as different reasons but the most popular version explains that the two lovers couldn't finish their work due to being so distracted with each other so they separated them with some kind of 'heaven river'. If you know what the Milky Way is, that's the river they were specifically talking about. [Coming from a folklorist family has it perks.]

... [Part of her wants to ask. Another part feels it's a whole complicated mess.]

A variation of one but yes.

Well, majority of the folk tales can be either pretty sad, silly or just plain weird. [Mostly weird.]

Probably a bigger impact on people?

Either than or the old times weren't really so enjoyable back then.
