hi again everyone!
so ive learned a bit about valentines day
and in doing so ive found its celebrated differently in different places? :o
and also in some places like japan
theres a corresponding holiday called white day!
so anyway my question today is do you celebrate valentines
and if so how
just out of curiosity
with absolutely no ulterior motive whatsoever
also exactly how many human holidays are there because so far there have been rather a lot of them my goodness
its almost like theres a holiday for every month
and there are at least five ways to celebrate each one
i think i need a chart

Some people use it as an excuse to be extra romantic with their significant other.
Others take the opportunity to spread some love and affection to their friends.
Sending chocolates and flowers are common gifts to give.
A dozen red roses usually are for romantic couples, while yellow roses are sent to friends.
I know quite a few American holidays you might be interested in learning about.
May Day, Independence Day, Friendship Day, Easter.
Actually, i think the Chinese New Year's is this month.
I believe this year is the year of the Snake.

And it helps the single ones to not be quite so lonely or feel left out.
International Friendship Day is pretty much a platonic version of Valentine's.
It's pretty popular in some countries to make friendship bracelets for each of your friends as a gift.

with those of us who will be near enough

I'm thinking my travel group will do something, too.
I'm not quite sure what we'll do just yet, but we can come up with something, I'm sure.
Either July 30th or the first Sunday of August. The July date is more a political one.
You can probably find a kit or how-to book in a city or town.
What other holiday did you want to learn about next?

i think i will definitely have to get one!!!
i dont want to not celebrate properly after all

easter???

I'm sure you'll get the hang of it in no time!
Easter is basically a religious holiday that is the sequel to Christmas.
Where Christmas is said to be the birth of Jesus Christ, Easter is supposedly the day that he resurrected from his death, though he died three days later.
Traditionally, it's supposed to be a day properly celebrating that resurrection, but most celebrate it a different way.
Namely, you gift people with Easter baskets full of chocolates with a chocolate bunny as the centerpiece. Or just a plush toy or something else the person might want.
It's mostly a family holiday and the apex of it is that the night before Easter, you're supposed to dye boiled eggs different colors, and then have an Easter Egg Hunt.
Or some other variation on an Easter Egg Hunt.
It's a lot of fun for kids, though there are adults who take pleasure in participating in the Hunt.
The goal of it is to get the most eggs before anyone else. Prizes are optional, but the bragging rights and recognition for being the best Hunter might be prize enough for some.
