Hey! I'm not sure if everyone watches the EV News - I do, and they have the catchiest little intro jingle, don't you think? [ Pausing to hum that. You're welcome. ]

Anyway! Is anyone planning to go to this prom thing? And has anyone else managed to procquire a silver ticket? I have to say that seeing all those pokeballs drop from the sky was sort of fun! I actually can't take credit for catching my silver ticket, though - Panini caught it. I think he was sort of having a field day with things to catch from the sky, actually. I'll have to keep that in mind for the future.

I've never been to a dance before. So I entirely plan to go! Besides, it sounds like it's happening in a new place, which is exciting. Have any of you been to dances before, though? I wouldn't mind hearing about them if you have!

Oh, that's great! Actually - are you in your room? I can't tell.

[On a bench, in fact, with a dozing sunshine the roselia resting her head on her knee, watching her two bug pokemon flutter about.]

I'll be right there! Don't move an inch. ...Well, you can move an inch, but stay in the same general location or I'll have to call you on the gear again.

[ Aradia wasn't too far away to start with - her room was on the first floor, and she locates the garden easily enough, Indy the gengar trailing after her like an ever-present shadow, and Panini the pachirisu on her shoulder. ]

Kanaya! There you are.

[Which is an easy enough promise since she has no intention of moving anyway. She does wave when Aradia appears, and the other talking wakes up Sunshine. The roselia sits up and rubs at her eyes with her flower-hands before she gives Kanaya a little hug and hops off the bench to go see what the fireflies are doing.]

[ Panini, too, hops off of Aradia's shoulder to go see what the others are up to, although Indy stays at her side. Her partner likes to stay near her, when he can. ]

Just enjoying the sun? [ The question comes as Aradia joins Kanaya on the bench, smiling at the pokemon's antics. ]

[Kanaya nods, smiling a sort of content smile.]

Yes, and the fact that it's starting to get warmer. Supposedly it will be downright pleasant soon.

Here, sit down. [She indicates the spot sunshine had vacated moments before.]

I don't think it's that unpleasant as it is! But I didn't live in a desert, either.

[ Aradia takes the indicated seat, crossing her legs at the ankle and leaning back. ]

Although the next place we're going is an island...you have to figure the weather there will be pleasant!

Well, my own home was on a fairly pleasant island, so you can understand why I might prefer the heat.

[Well, that and former rainbow drinker.]

Hopefully. I may need to borrow one of your fliers for the trip again, I still haven't gotten around to catching one.

Actually...I think we can go with the leaders! We're leaving with Morty to go to the dance, but on the way back, we can hitch a ride with Chuck. It'll be a lot faster than our own travels would be, too.

[ She sounds enthused about this, probably because haha surfing. ]

Speaking of which! Do you have plans for the dance yet?

Hmm. That does sound better.

[She shakes her head.]

No, I didn't want to assume the rest of the group wanted to go.

Actually, I think Sollux is the only one who doesn't! He's going, though. Not to the dance, but along for the ride, so we can all swap to Cianwood easily after. But I know Dirk and Jake are going to the dance! Together, even.

John said he's going, as well, and I assume some of the others from other groups will be going. Equius mentioned being on the fence about it.

[ That's everyone she thinks Kanaya would care about, at least, but it's not what she came out here to talk about. Or it is, actually. ]

Would you like to go together? I think it sounds like a great deal of fun!

[Kanaya is about to say something about who is going when Aradia asks that, and she blinks in surprise.]

Uhm.

[A beat, as she gathers her thoughts.]

You mean, as a date? I had assumed...well, I suppose in retrospect if Sollux isn't going then it would make sense that the two of you would not be going together, but still I can't, I mean I'm just a bit surprised really, I certainly wasn't expecting that you might, ah.

[She catches herself rambling and hesitates, sucking in a breath.]

Yes, I'd like that, Aradia. I'm honored.

You had assumed...? Oh, I didn't even ask Sollux; that's liable to make him run away, you know. [ Far, far away. ]

And yes, as a date! I think it'll be fun; we'll get to hang out together and everything! [ Dates don't have to be romantic! Actually, it will probably be ten times as much fun without that headache, although Aradia isn't actually saying so.

Perhaps the problem there is that she is romantically interested in people who give her a headache anyway? ]

When I was thinking "who would be fun to go with?" you were really at the top of the list.

[Kanaya has a lot of points in her Rambling attribute.]

Oh. [A little pause, and she smiles faintly.] Well, as I said, I am honored, and thank you for thinking of me as fun, Aradia. [It so rarely happens!]

Ummm, the only dresses I own are...the one you made for me, actually! [ ...It's just been more practical to purchase jeans and shirts since her arrival!

Mmm. [Kanaya has to picture the dresses for a moment, running them over in her mind.] Not particularly.

I will have to create another one for you.

[Note: She can't help but sound excited.]

Well, I didn't, actually. [A pause.]

But it's certainly nice to have one. I'm thinking red, of course, perhaps somewhat swishy...

[She fishes her bag out from next to the bench, and after a moment shows Aradia a sketch, the precursor to this dress.]

Oh, that's lovely, Kanaya! It looks like an ember, don't you think?

Hmm. I suppose so. [She smiles at the paper.] I hadn't thought of it that way, but it works.

What way were you thinking of it? And I think it'll look nice on you.
