Anyway! Is anyone planning to go to this prom thing? And has anyone else managed to procquire a silver ticket? I have to say that seeing all those pokeballs drop from the sky was sort of fun! I actually can't take credit for catching my silver ticket, though - Panini caught it. I think he was sort of having a field day with things to catch from the sky, actually. I'll have to keep that in mind for the future.

I've never been to a dance before. So I entirely plan to go! Besides, it sounds like it's happening in a new place, which is exciting. Have any of you been to dances before, though? I wouldn't mind hearing about them if you have!

Yes, I suppose this is a very important event for full-time trainers. Myself, I have not seen much need for the badges after hearing that they do not guarantee a return trip to our home worlds.

Perhaps these elite trainers will have some answers for us, though.

Well, they do net you prize money and moves you can't get from the shops, I think! So I've been doing them for that reason.

Are you a trainer, then? Or a breeder?

There's also the strange mechanic that you need badges in order to use certain moves as well. I find it a extremely superfluous limitation myself. A large Flying type Pokemon should be able to carry its trainer regardless of their badge count. Do they not consider that some people may not be interested in collecting them?

[Whoops, that certainly spouted quite a rant.]

But I digress. My card registers as a trainer, but I haven't done much competitive battling.

I am honestly used to weird game mechanics! I just think of them like that. With the ledge thing, too, which also makes no real sense if you don't accept that "because" is also an acceptable answer from the universe at large.

I see...I'm a breeder, myself. But I travel with a bunch of trainers, so I just take on gyms as we hit them anyway.

I just think it's extremely unfair to those who wish to make their lives easier but do not wish to compete. And I actually have not heard about the ledges. What are they guilty of?

You can't climb up them! Because of game-world physics, I suppose. [ That's honestly the easiest way for her to refer to it as. This place is like a video game many of her friends played, therefore the physics of this place are based on a game, yes? ]

Hm...well, you could always hitch a ride with someone who does have a fly-capable pokemon and a badge to the gym that has the badge that allows fly, and then you should be set for easier travel?

Well that is just ridiculous. It's a miracle that we can at least ride a Pokemon by land, with all these idiotic mechanics!

It is ridiculous, isn't it? But it's best to just learn the game mechanics rather than try to run straight into them! Once you know them, you can work around them.

If you can't find someone, I wouldn't mind making time to go and take you to either one. We're in Ecruteak now, and we're planning to hit Cianwood after, but it's not as though I don't have spare time!

Which area is that? I think you're in Johto, right? I can make it anywhere within a few days, give or take, but some places are closer than others.
