Hello! This is Aradia. I've been doing some reading - well, I suppose it's rather a lot of reading? - about the legends of this place. Jade, thank you again for that book! I actually read a reference to it there, and then it took me a little while to locate other mentions of the topic - it's been nearly two weeks? - because I suppose I'm really in the wrong region for this, but -

Hm. I'm rambling. Anyway! Here's a story that some of you might find interesting.

A long time ago, there was a pokémon known as Regigigas. It seems to be part of a creation myth, like a few others - the task Regigigas completed was pulling the continents into place. When it had completed that task, it created three golems in its image: one from an icy mountain, one from rocks, and from one magma. Regice, Regirock, and Registeel. For a time they were worshiped by the people of the land, but this would not last. They were so powerful that the people grew afraid, and took action.

Using magic they sealed away the master of the golems, Regigigas. The three golems it had created were spirited away to a new land, for if they were to come together Regigigas could rise again, and the people of that land feared that would mean endless destruction. The golems were all sealed away, their locations lost or forgotten.

[ Aradia falls silent for a minute or two, making a note in her binder, before looking back up. ] I'll admit it isn't exactly overflowing with details, but I thought I'd share anyway. The legend itself is apparently native to a place called Hoenn. "We built this" - that was in the translations they released. I wonder what it refers to in specific? The placement of the continents? This world's civilization? I really want to go to Blackthorn sometime soon to see for myself! Oh, and the rest, if you weren't following the news, I guess: "Man ends, pokémon ends, everything ends. New worlds inherit new dreams." We've certainly got worlds aplenty represented here, anyway.

This place does have something of a knack for cryptic messages, though. "Our words shall remain here for the ages. Thus we shall erect a pokémon statue outside. They possess great insight and refuse the outside world. We humans must learn to walk in harmony with them. We depart for their sakes."

I wonder how many more of these little messages are hidden around the realm. I suppose we'll just have to find out! At least reading about this makes it easier to know what to keep an eye out for when we're exploring! Although reading about all of this also makes my "to see" list absurdly long, so maybe I ought to stop until I've caught up with that.

I think some of the creation myths here are pretty interesting overall, but finding out something about the whole golem thing seemed sort of relevant!

Extremely relevant, considering that snow storm and all those worries about NPCs saying the world was ending and such!

I'm doing quite well, and hoohoo! Everything hatched right on time with only a few moments between, but I caught myself some Pokemon in the forest and they have been of great help in keeping an eye on all these youngsters. [MISSES YOU TOO GIRL, but the space is necessary.. at least for now. John convinced her to head back after she gets her badge.]

There's still no real explanation as to why it didn't end, though. [ A pause, and then Aradia realizes maybe she should qualify that, since she sounded put out about it. ] Not that I'm complaining!

[ okay she's complaining a little but not about the world not ending okay ]

Oh, which pokemon? Are you in the town yet?

Hoohoo, understandable enough. It's just another of those mysteries to solve!

I think I'm nearing the exit of the forest soon, if not today then tomorrow! Here, let me show you. [Turning the feed, there is her group of baby Pokemon playing with quite a handful of others; really, Jane increased her group by a good ten Pokemon over a few days. The little ones include a Ralts, Cleffa, Gastly who keeps zipping over the others, Cherubi and a blue-green Trapinch. Jigglypuff is keeping both Cherubi and Cleffa warm, where a Buizel and Drifloon are trying to contain the ghost. A Nuzleaf, Bulbasaur and Surskit are keeping an overactive Duskull and Growlithe at bay from the shy Ralts.]

Oh! You'll have to text me the genders and names... [ By now Jane should be well aware that the contents of Aradia's binder include charts of all their pokemon. She is the most ridiculous breeder.

Her eyes catch on that Trapinch, however. ] Oh, so your egg was a Trapinch?

I'm still trying to pick names, it's just.. well, before I could name some of the new ones, all the eggs went and hatched! [Oh but of course.]

Mhm! He resembles an animal called an antlion from home; he also keeps trying to dig down into the dirt, so he must be a ground type. I wonder if his evolutions have wings, the way an older antlion does?

Yes, I think Jake and I learned to space things out, but...apparently holidays sort of throw that to the wayside. Because of presents. [ Notably? Aradia avoided and will avoid getting people pokemon as gifts. For this very reason. ]

You could certainly check it on the pokedex function! The color scheme must be different...actually, I think it is, from what I remember, but that's pretty vague.

Yes, from what the dex says, Trapinch are normally an orange-brown color! Let's see.. [Flipping through her pokedex, yessirree!] It doesn't look like it knows what the colors are when it evolves, but otherwise, it will look like this -

Oh! It's very geometrical, isn't it?

Yes, I can definitely agree to that! I wonder if it stays this color instead of something else though?

I think it will probably look different from the dex version - after all, John's Togekiss was apparently shiny when it hatched, and it still has a different sort of colouring.

Hmm.. I suppose we'll just see when he grows up!

I'm thinking of challenging the gym while we're here, by the way.

Well, as long as we're here! Although we're really making this entire linear thing hard on ourselves, aren't we?

Hoo hoo, a little bit, but I don't think it needs to be linear! [Oh boy, now that's going to be a fight she's sorry to miss.]

Oh goodness, that should be wonderful fun! Just be careful, ghost types are weak to each other!

Still, maybe by the time we all cross into Kanto we'll be able to hit the towns one by one without backtracking a lot? [ this will never be a thing they can do, probably. ]

I will be! I think I'll let Panini and Kunzite be the front-hitters. [ Pachirisu and Jigglypuff, respectively. ]

Yes, that may be a thing, but where to start? Pallet town doesn't have a gym, and I think the magnet train goes to Saffron City, not Pewter, which would be the first of the gyms there.

Oh goodness, those are two super cute names!

Well, I'd like to see Pallet town, anyway. We may as well start there?

I'd really love to start at Pallet town, if only to see if it looks the same as it did in the games. I wonder if Green or Red or Green's sister live there, hoohoo!

Oh, uh, the characters when you played the game! You were the protagonist, Red, and Green was your rival. He was Professor Oak's grandson, and was.. well, a bit of a jerk and a bully to your mute character.

Oh, I see! You know, it would have been nice to play the game or see the show before coming here.

Hoohoo, I only know of that game at least! That reminds me, there's a town you might like if only because I remember it being haunted? It's out in Kanto, and its name is Lavender Town. The protagonist in the game quiets the restless spirit that was haunting the burial tower, but I don't know for sure if that was the only one? It was a real ghost, not just a ghost type Pokemon!
