[ Aradia looks way too cheerful when the feed comes on, considering she appears to be outdoors and in the thick of the chaos, happily in the midst of the rampaging fossil-types. A few fossil types seem to be surrounding her protectively, though - two Kabutops and a Carracosta, with two Aerodactyl in the sky.

In light of the event, everyone except her Gengar partner - who can be seen in her shadow, his grin flickering - was changed over to backup, since it seemed more fair to allow the fossil-types to join her in her explorations.

The chaos apparently bothers her not at all. ]

Isn't this fantastic? [ ...like, not a little bit, she's far too excited for that. ] All of them back from the dead...!

It can be a bit confusing, at first. Coming back from the dead, I mean! No wonder they're upset. But more importantly - aren't they fascinating? And that there's that sort of power here, to bring fossils back to life...Of course, Brock did mention the machine he uses in Pewter, but this isn't that. It's the power from one person, right? It's just fantastic.

I haven't ever managed to see some of these in person before today...! Just notes on their fossils in my books, and that sort of thing. [ And she may or may not have been out since midnight last night, when it started. Because...fossils. ] There's so much to learn before it's done!

Oh, if anyone learns anything interesting or sees anything interesting, please do tell me!! I can only watch so much of it at once. [ There's a great deal of noise off to the side, as one of the Kabutops unleashes a water attack on some approaching Kabutos. Aradia looks off to see what happened, and though she looks intrigued, she's still not concerned or upset. Just...really happy. ]

Well, I'd better go. We're helping out, for now, since it means I can explore a bit more and see how the fossil types are reacting...

Ooooh, what's that?

[ And she's out. HAPPILY. Those in Celadon can find her poking around and trying to study the rampaging hordes - or occasionally lending an assist to stopping them, although her pokentourage is more into that then she is. ]

They're all fossil types! Usually, they'd be extinct, right? You can barely find them anywhere...but now they've all been brought back to life! There's just so much we can learn from them! All of these once-dead creatures...!

[ Oh, but protection is sort of important... ]

...As to that, though, If you need better protection, I can lend you a higher level pokemon for however long this lasts.

I don't care what they are, it was better when they were extinct! These things are disgusting, skittering bugs! They're scary in the bad way, and they've injured my adorable pokemon, too. They should have stayed dead or became ghosts! Cute ghosts, so I could catch another to join the one I'll have when my egg hatches!

[Ah, that's...really tempting, but also a bit troubling, too. Perona does want protection, but she also want her pokemon to grow stronger, too. If she had her devil fruit abilities, then it'd be a whole other story! She could train her pokemon and back them up when they needed it. Her Negative Hollows would take care of these things. Besides, she never needed help before her powers were taken away! It's a slap in the face to seem so weak now.]

...No. I appreciate the offer, but I can take care of myself and my cuties. If I don't, then they won't be able to grow later, and that'll just cause more trouble for me. And I don't think Mihawk would enjoy being overlooked by a stronger pokemon, either. He's so much like that old man...

Oh, you like ghost-types, too?

[ Aradia immediately perks up. She's met so many people who don't...and her starter, the Gengar in her shadow, flickers in the background before he's right up near the screen, having hear the comment about ghosts.

He just grins, creepily. ]

That's a very good way to look at it! I'm sure you'll be fine. After all, you have your partners to look for you.

Hm? Of course I do! I thought I had told others about that... Ghosts are one of my very favorite things, I used to control and create them freely in my world, and I even have an egg from an adorable boy that will become a little cand--

[Oh my gosh, what is that beautifully wonderful, creepy, grinning shadowbeast there? It's positively stunning! Perona squeaks with delight, her eyes lighting up with love and adoration. Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh, look at how cuuuute~! ♥ Perona cups her hands together under her chin, forgetting about the prior conversation entirely.]

Aaah~! Hello there, shadowbeast! What are you doing over there, horohorohoro! Is it yours, Aradia-san? What's it called; does it have a name? It's so cute! What a nice smile you have, cutie! And the color of your eyes is so haunting! Aaah, what a precious little devil! [WIGGLES IN PLACE WITH JOYOUS ADORATION, HANDS ON HER CHEEKS NOW.]

Oh, you used to control them, too? [ Aradia used to be able to command ghosts to haunt people, at least...so this sounds interesting indeed. ] I've always been able to speak with the dead! Though in this place, I can't hear them any longer.

[ And any affection/attention for Indy will always get a grin from Aradia. ]

This is Indy - he's a Gengar, and my starter partner. [ And Indy is happy to bask in the attention. He so rarely gets compliments like this, after all... ]

Yes, I had a power--...w-wait! You're saying you could do the same? [That's astonishing! Not to mention impossible in her world, so....wow. Color Perona surprised, and deeply intrigued.] You could speak with them, too? I...I don't think I ever could, and especially not before I ate the Hollow Hollow fruit. Can you tell me more? ...Please? I've never met anyone other than me who could do the things I did.

Eh--what? [You can practically hear the bubble pop when Perona perks up again, and she smiles back at the Gengar once more, though it seems a bit more distracted.] Oh, horohoro, it's nice to meet you, Indy-chan! Are you taking good care of Aradia?

The dead? Yes, I always could. From the time I was small. [ Aradia doesn't seem the least bit put out by the request. ] I was born being able to speak to the dead. Or perhaps they simply needed to speak to me? ...At any rate, the lowest blood castes tended to be the ones with the greatest psychic powers. And one of the ways my powers showed themselves was through that - speaking to the dead.

[ The Gengar nods, grinning creepy-cheerily. Yes, he is. He has his partner under protection, for sure! ]

I see...I had my own ability when I was small, too. [She consumed the Hollow Hollow fruit when she was young, and had nearly a decade to perfect her spirit powers. Even so, she was never born with such a gift, so this is very, very interesting. Perona has no idea what "blood caste" even implies, but she doesn't really pay it much thought.]

That's amazing...I could never speak to ghosts, as far as I remember, but I could speak through my cute little hollows - it was very helpful when I wanted to send a message to someone far away without getting up myself. They also had other uses in that regard...and more. Mmh, but those ghosts you spoke with, could you control them? Did they do what you said?

[Because a skill without control isn't very useful at all.]

I could. At least, I was able to send them to haunt people, and that sort of thing.

[ Yet she had to rely on their whims to receive items from her sylladex. It was a complex relationship.

And anyway, they'd wanted to make Vriska pay. ]

I suppose I could have used them for messages, too, but I usually just used a chat client. And yes, they did what I said. As I, in turn, did what they said.

[Send them to haunt people? Perona feels a shiver run up her spine, but it's not the sort that most people get. Oh no, that chill was one of excitement.] Aaah, that sounds wonderful! What a dreadful time your enemies must have had, horohorohoro! I can jut imagine the terror on their faces...it's fantastic!

[She sighs, dreamily, as a nostalgic feeling wafts over her. For just a moment, when she closes her eyes and touches her cheek with one hand, Perona's back on Thriller Bark, her ghosts and surprise zombies lining the walls of her wing of the castle...scaring people, making them miserable with negativity, blowing the heads off weaker pirates...ah. ♥]

I could create them. [Perona looks at her open palm.] When I had my powers, I could create as many ghosts as I liked - as an extension of my spirit. My cute little hollows...I miss them so much. It almost feels lonely without them, like I'm missing a piece of myself. I've had my powers longer than when I hadn't had them, I barely remember life without them.

Creating them...That's not something I could ever do. Well - I suppose I could in the usual way, if I killed someone and they became a spirit, but that isn't what you're talking about.

[ Casually mentions killing people in a conversation. Aradia, no. ]

So it was something you learned...?

[That sure is a stagnant pause on the other end of the feed. Perona just had a moment of unease - never before has she seen anyone talk about killing someone and commanding their spirit like it was nothing before. She's not sure whether to be afraid or impressed (because that kind of actually sounds awesome to do).

The question actually breaks her train of thought, and Perona chews her lower lip. Ah..she could give the basics of it, but she doesn't want to explain everything.]

...Not exactly. It's more like something I, eh...gained. Bu it's not something I can talk about so easily here.

[ #troll life. Aradia likes to think of herself as a nice person and a pacifist, but the things she's done or has been willing to do... ]

If that's the case, don't worry about it. I'm not the sort of person who pries! At least, I try not to be.

[It's not like Perona hasn't dirtied her own hands before, being a pirate means murder and lies for personal gain, but usually there is a bit of care and secrecy involved. Tact, one would say. Not everything can be ignored by a government official, even if you work under a Shichibukai...or have worked under one.]

That's good to know, and I'll hold you to your word, Aradia-san. Perhaps if we meet in person some day, I'll be more inclined to share my secrets.

Mmh, I don't really have any questions at the moment, but I'll be sure to remember that for when I do have questions.
